Adviser to the Prosecutor General Gor Abrahamyan made a post on his Facebook page, in which he said that the prosecutor's office filed an appeal against the decision to deny the application for the arrest of the deputy director of Surmalu.

"As the prosecutor's office mentioned earlier the prosecutor filed a criminal case against four people within the criminal proceedings on the explosion and fire in Surmalu shopping center on August 14 (two of them under Article 357 Part 2 of RA Criminal Code - the violation of fire safety rules and requirements that resulted in human death or other serious consequences through negligence; two others under Article 165 Part 2 of RA Criminal Code - the murder of two or more people through negligence).

The mentioned persons were charged with committing the aforementioned criminal acts, and the authority realizing the proceeding submitted a petition to the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan city for arrest as a measure of restraint.

By the court's decision the petitions with respect to three of the mentioned four persons were satisfied, in respect of the deputy director of the trade center the petition was rejected. The full text of the court ruling was received by the prosecutor's office in Yerevan and the substantiation was studied. In connection with the unreasonableness of the judicial act, an appeal has been filed today," said the advisor.
