Algeria has submitted an official application to join the BRICS group, Leila Zerrougui said, special envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for international partnership, reports TASS.
In late July, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said that Algeria was interested in joining the BRICS. He stressed that the country has almost all the conditions for joining the group. Tebboune also noted that joining the BRICS would allow Algeria to avoid participating in bipolar conflicts.
