The decision of the International Court of Justice confirms that Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin corridor contradicts international law and must be stopped immediately, said U.S. Congressman Frank Pallone.

"@StateDept and our allies must ensure that Aliyev abides by the ruling and allows the free flow of people and goods to/from Artsakh," the U.S. congressman wrote on his Twitter microblog.

The day before the International Court of Justice partially granted the interim measures against Azerbaijan and unanimously rejected the claim of Azerbaijan against Armenia.

Armenia demanded from the International Court of Justice to oblige Azerbaijan to unblock the Lachin corridor closed for more than two months, to ensure the free movement of people and vehicles in both directions, as well as to immediately restore the gas supply. The Court granted Armenia's claim for an interim measure and obliged Azerbaijan to take all measures to ensure the uninterrupted movement of people, vehicles and goods in both directions through the Lachin corridor until the final decision in the case was rendered. At the same time, the UN Court noted that there were not sufficient arguments that Azerbaijan was violating the gas supply.

The International Court unanimously rejected Azerbaijan's request for interim measures against Armenia. Azerbaijan's accusations referred to alleged mining operations in Nagorno-Karabakh "to prevent Azeri nationals from returning to their homes." The Court's decision states that Azerbaijan has not provided evidence that Armenia has taken steps to prevent the rights of return of Azerbaijani nationals to their places of habitual residence.
