Italian company Leonardo has informed that it has signed an agreement to deliver an unspecified number of Leonardo C-27J Spartan turboprop military transport aircraft to the air force of Azerbaijan, Haqqin.az wrote.

Leonardo informed that an Azerbaijani delegation visited Italy to sign the respective agreement, and high-ranking representatives of the defense ministers of both countries took part in the signing. The agreement is an integral part of the modernization of the armed forces of Azerbaijan.

The C-27J Spartan aircraft can perform defense and civilian tasks. These planes are considered perfect for military transport missions, dropping parachutes and materials from the air, tactical support of troops, helping special forces, humanitarian aid, and eliminating the consequences of natural disasters, the respective statement said.
