Turkey will still support Azerbaijan in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, Hulusi Akar, told the abovementioned to Trend news agency of Azerbaijan.

In his words, Turkey expects the international community to react in the settlement of this conflict in the same way as in the Ukrainian matter.

Akar “substantiated” his view based on the judgment which the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) had made in June.

“The European Court of Human Rights has legally proved the illegitimacy of Armenia’s position, and that this country is the main problem in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict,” argued the head of the Turkish army.

In June, the ECHR made rulings in two precedential cases—Sargsyan v. Republic of Azerbaijan, and Chiragov v. Republic of Armenia—, and both appeals were granted. Azerbaijan, however, had interpreted the ECHR judgment in a different way and presented it as an approval.
