Armenian language classes started at Ayios Demetrios Elementary school in Nicosia, Gibrahayer e-magazine reports.

The classes began after appropriate suggestion was made in September 2009 at the Ministryof Education and Culture. The group comprises of about 15 people, most of which are Greek-Cypriots married with Armenian-Cypriots, the source says.

Renowned Cypriot researcher, writer Alexander-Michael Hadjilyra said that he is pleased “to have Mrs Tonia Aradjian as our teacher, who has had years of experience with teaching Armenian to odarakhos students at the Melkonian Educational Institute.”
