During his visit to Sweden, Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul touched upon a bill condemning Armenian Genocide approved by the Swedish parliament and relations between Yerevan and Ankara.

Talking to reporters in Stockholm, Gul said such issues are not a matter to be discussed by parliaments, Haber3 reported. President said he has 20-year political experience and knows how such decisions are made.

“It is a wrong approach. It is throwing a shadow on relations. Thus, such issues must be left for historians. We have an open proposal to Armenia: let’s set up a commission of historians. If the third parties are interested, they may participate, and the scientists will make a decision,” Gul said.
