YEREVAN. – A meeting was held, on Thursday at Armenia’s Police, with a delegation from the group of rapporteurs on democracy issues of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE).

The delegation chief, Urszula Gacek, noted that they are primarily interested in the human rights issue during police activities and the respective reforms, Police Department of Media informs.         

In this respect, Deputy Police Chief Arthur Osikyan presented the directions of the reforms that were carried out in Armenia. It was noted that the reforms will be ongoing and a special police division conducts relevant activities.

In his turn, Police Chief of Staff Vardan Yeghiazaryan reflected on the cooperation between Armenia’s Police and international organizations, and noted that this cooperation often turns into a partnership.

Speaking about strengthening the tie between the society and the police and the modern-day avenues for collaboration, the importance of the Armenian Police official website was stressed.    

The parties also discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
