YEREVAN. – The opposition “Barev Yerevan” bloc and Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) are considering the possibility of conveying a special session of the Yerevan Council, following the rise in transport fares.

Leader of “Barev Yerevan” bloc Anahit Bakhshyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that they had offered PAP to launch a signature campaign in order to convey a special session.

“They have agreed to the proposal, but the moves are in progress,” she added.

Talking to agency’s correspondent, head of PAP faction Tamara Poghosyan confirmed their readiness to hold a special meeting. She believes the council had to participate in making decision on such a sensitive issue.
