YEREVAN. – The Transport and Communication Ministry of Armenia has regretted raising the interregional and interstate passenger transportation fares, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

“The ministry confirmed this news, albeit indirectly.

“It is known that just days ago Minister Gagik Beglaryan was saying that the [fare] hike was inevitable and it is just that it should be in the minimal amount.

“[But] today, the situation is different as a result of the protests and the pressures against the fare hike in [capital city] Yerevan,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
