The EU is expecting clarification from Armenia on its plans to join the Customs Union, official representative of the EU said.

Maja Kocijancic, spokeswoman for High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs & Security Policy Catherine Ashton, said they seek clarifications from the Armenians side, adding that after that the implications would be assessed, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The statement issued by presidents of Armenia and Russia on Tuesday said Armenia has an intention to join the Customs Union and participate in formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
