The Karabakh conflict must be settled exclusively by peaceful means, former Latvian president said during her meetings in Baku.
Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga noted that only this method must be used in this situation, adding that conflicts bring devastation, deaths and sufferings to people living in the countries affected by confrontation.
“Refugees and internally displaced persons cannot come back to their homes for years,” she added.
Former Latvian leader is confident that there is always hope, 1news.az reported.
“In Latvia, many people said our country had no chance to restore independence, but it happened. The Soviet Union collapsed, and much has changed,” she added.
