YEREVAN. – The recognition of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s (NKR, or Artsakh) independence at this time is inexpedient, since there are a number of important issues.

NKR National Assembly (NA) Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Vahram Atanesyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Atanesyan reflected on Tuesday’s—and yet another—introduction of the bill on the recognition of NKR’s independence, at the Armenian NA session.

“I regret that the legislative regulation of the National Assembly of Armenia permits submitting a discussion matter about which there are negative conclusions by the country’s executive power and the parliament’s main committee,” he noted.

The NKR MP explained that Armenia’s NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and Ministry of Foreign Affairs consider the discussion of this matter at the parliament to be inexpedient.
