International Monetary Fund (IMF) office in Armenia will shortly publish a report with forecasts for 2010 – Armenia will register an economic upturn of 1.8% and inflation of 6.2%, IMF resident representative in Armenia Guillermo Tolosa told journalists today, April 9.

As for the foreign debt of the country, he reckons that it increased dramatically and will grow in the years to come. According to him, starting 2012 the net foreign debt starts to decrease. Nonetheless, Tolosa said that the national debt will be stable if he noted terms are followed.

Commenting on the economic growth of 1.8%, the financier emphasized that the forecast was made this February and the new one is pending in May, which is likely to be different considering the changes on global economy.
