April 11, Armenian weightlifter Rouben Alexanyan (105 kg) took second place in European Weightlifting Championship in Belarus.
Alexanyan won silver in clean (195 kg) and a gold medal in jerk combination (237 kg). Russia’s Evgeny Chigishev became the European Champion.
Armenian weightlifting national team ranked fourth in the championship.
