Although content with the Georgian elections, the United States is pointing out some violations.

Violations involved vote-count at some polling stations, which was also noted by OSCE observers. The U.S. welcomes the Central Electoral Commission’s efforts to promptly respond to problems and shares the OSCE’s opinion on how the problems should be pointed out to Georgia, stated Philip J. Crowley, Spokesman for the United States State Department.

Local elections were held in Georgia on May 30. Interim parliamentary elections were held in the country as well. According to the preliminary results, the United National Movement is the leader (65.7%), followed by the Christian-Democratic Union (11.91%).
