Turkey is going to officially lodge a claim against Israel with the International Criminal Court and the Washington Arbitration Court.

Ankara will file two lawsuits: the first seeking the payment of compensation to the families of the victims-killed and injured-of the Israeli military operation on “Freedom Flotilla”, and the second for violation of International Maritime Convention by Tel Aviv.

According to Turkish mass media, Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation and collection of evidence. The witnesses already gave preliminary testimonies. It is not ruled out that Turkey, which is under the jurisdiction of the European Court, will lodge a claim against Israel with that Court as well.

“This crime cannot go unpunished and we will do our utmost to bring those responsible for the tragedy to justice,” says a statement issued by the Turkish Prosecutor General’s Office.
