The president of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Galust Sahakyan, participated in, and addressed at, an international conference, titled “Eurasian Economic Prospects,” which was convened on Thursday in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Speaking about the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the NA speaker noted that this union enables great opportunities for deepening interstate cooperation in trade and economy. In his words, Armenia, by joining the EEU, became a part of a nearly 170 million-strong market, and this makes the country appealing for investments.

Sahakyan also noted that the lifting of the customs obstacles is a major accomplishment of the EEU.

He added that Armenia stands ready to carry out the agreements reached within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
