For United States and Israel, interests are more important than universal human values, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan said during Pozner program, responding to the question on whether he understands why countries such as United States and Israel do not acknowledge the Armenian Genocide.
“I understand but do not accept. They proceed from their national interests, which dictate them not to offend Turkey,” Sargsyan said, reminding that both the ex-Congressman Obama and the ex-MP and Israel’s current President Reuven Rivlin used to actively advocate for the Armenian Genocide recognition.
Referring to Obama, the President said: “After becoming a president, he changed his lexicon.”
