YEREVAN. – According to official data, the annual brandy production in Armenia has reduced by more than 1.5 times between January and March of the current year.

This decline is directly linked to a reduction in Armenian brandy exports to Russia.

To note, brandy is special for Armenian national production in terms of exports. According to the 2013 data, 90 percent of the brandy produced in Armenia was exported.

But the January-March data are not final due to the problems that exist in the reports which the entrepreneurs have provided.

As a result, the brandy balance sheet looks quite bizarre. Accordingly, the brandy exports accounted for just 7 percent. So, it turns out that virtually all brandy produced in Armenia has remained in the country.
