STEPANAKERT. – The President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh), Bako Sahakyan, on Friday visited the NKR City of Shushi.

The President paid the visit within the framework of the festive events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the NKR Defense Army Day, and the Liberation Day of Shushi.

Sahakyan laid a wreath and placed flowers on the pedestal of the “Tank” monument, and to the monuments of Supreme Commander Vazgen Sargsyan and Soviet Union hero Nelson Stepanyan, informed the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.

Next, the President watched the “From Shushi to Shushi” photo exhibition at the city’s arts center, and attended a festive concert and a trade fair held in the city stadium.

Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan, NKR second President Arkadi Ghukasyan, Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan—who is Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church—, NKR National Assembly Speaker Ashot Ghulyan, Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, several other senior officials of Artsakh and Armenia, and guests from the Armenian diaspora and abroad also participated in the celebratory events.
