STEPANAKERT. – The President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh), Bako Sahakyan, on Friday attended, in the NKR City of Shushi, the ceremony of lighting of the torch of the forthcoming Sixth Pan-Armenian Games, and he also delivered an address.

In his remarks, the President said this is the second time that this ceremony is taking place in Artsakh, and he considered this a sign of profound meaning, informed the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.

According to Sahakyan, the unique nature of the Pan-Armenian Games lies in the fact that they have no actual losers, and the victories achieved are those of the entire Armenian people.

He also considered these games an important means to appear before the world as a civilized, consolidated and self-reliant nation which, despite being scattered across the globe, is inseparably connected with its historic homeland, and it does its best for the long-term development and strengthening of the independent Armenian statehood.
