YEREVAN. – The main package—of 51 percent—of the shares of Armenia Airline, which entered the aviation sector of the country, belongs to Ashot Torosyan who, as it was found out, is a dentist from Gyumri, according to Zhamanak daily.
“He assured us that he is backed by no official or oligarch.
‘“No, there is no one. Armenia’s [i.e. the new airline’s] director Robert [Oganesyan] and the Georgian partner [i.e. Tamaz Gaiashvili, the President of Georgian Airways] are my close friends.’
“To our query—a Gyumri dentist can actually open an airline?—, Torosyan responded, ‘Well, I suppose, yup. What can I say?’” Zhamanak wrote.
