The ruling Liberal-National coalition and Labor Party obtained an equal number of seats in the lower house of the Australian parliament, ABC channel reported on Saturday after preliminary results were voiced.

Earlier media reported that the vote count is suspended until Monday, but the new data on the preliminary results of the voting continued to arrive. The votes would not be counted on Sunday, the broadcaster said.

According to the latest data, after counting 77.6% of the votes ,the Liberal-National coalition and Labor Party obtained 67 of 150 seats in the lower house. Previously, the ratio was 73 for the ruling coalition and 66 for Laborparty.

Australia's Federal Parliament consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The House of Representatives has 150 members, each representing a particular constituency for three years. The upper chamber consists of 76 senators: 12 are elected from each of the six states and two from – two areas.
