YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) President Galust Sahakyan on Wednesday received Greek Ambassador Ioannis Taghis, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia. 

The NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that, first, Sahakyan thanked Taghis for his productive work during his tenure in Armenia, and wished him success in his future activities.

Also, the Armenian parliament speaker highly appreciated the Hellenic Parliament’s passing of the bill that stipulates accountability for Armenian Genocide denial.

Sahakyan also noted that Armenia underscores Greece’s a balanced position toward finding solely a pacific resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Galust Sahakyan added that Armenia attaches a particular importance to the further promotion and expansion of economic cooperation with Greece. 

Ambassador Ioannis Taghis, for his part, stated that Armenia-Greece relations have been at a high level during the years of his diplomatic mission in Armenia. He also expressed the hope that the stable development of bilateral relations will continue. 

In addition, Taghis thanked the NA president for the parliament’s assistance during his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

In the ensuing talk, the interlocutors highlighted the high level of parliamentary relations between Armenia and Greece.
