The US President Barack Obama has praised the efforts made by Russia in the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. According to the Kremlin press service, the talk between the US and the Russian leaders took place on the phone and was initiated by the American side.
Vladimir Putin told the US president about the results of the trilateral meeting on the issue of the Karabakh conflict held on June 20 in St. Petersburg between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Putin stressed that while organizing the meeting Russia was directed by the need of immediate stabilization of the situation in the conflict zone and creating conditions for promoting the advancement of the peace process. The parties agreed to continue making joint efforts in that important direction within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
