YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday visited the Embassy of Argentina in Armenia, on the occasion of Independence Day of Argentina.

The President’s press office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that Sargsyan congratulated Ambassador Gonzalo Urriolabeitia, the embassy staff and the people of Argentina, on the 200th anniversary of independence of the country. He wished further prosperity and more success to Argentina, and considerable achievements to Ambassador Urriolabeitia, in his efforts toward the strengthening of Armenian-Argentinean relations.

“I am convinced that our state relations, which are based on mutual trust, will progressively develop,” the Armenian President stressed, in particular. 

He also assured that Armenia stands ready to do everything to raise Armenian-Argentinean relations to a qualitatively new level.

Serzh Sargsyan noted that Armenia-Argentina cooperation is reflected also by the special demeanor toward matters that are crucial for the two countries.

The Armenian president and the Argentine ambassador underscored the active political discourse and high-level mutual visits, in terms of dynamic development of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Gonzalo Urriolabeitia, for his part, attached particular importance to the Argentine Armenian community’s role in the development of state relations.

“The relations between our [two] peoples have a much longer history than the period of establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries,” the Argentine diplomat specifically noted.
