YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) President Galust Sahakyan on Wednesday received Bulgarian Ambassador Georgi Karastamatov, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

The NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the parliament speaker thanked the ambassador for his beneficial cooperation during his tenure in Armenia, and wished him success in his future activities.

Sahakyan underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy in the strengthening bilateral relations, and deepening of cooperation.

The NA chairman expressed a conviction that the delegations from Armenia and Bulgaria will manifest a balanced mutual approach within international platforms.

Karastamatov, for his part, assured that he had done his utmost, during his diplomatic mission in Armenia, to strengthen and deepen relations between the two countries.

The ambassador lauded the close work between the friendship groups of the two parliaments, and highlighted the need to make collaboration grow deeper within international parliamentary platforms.  

He also assured that Bulgarian Armenians are protected, and they live and create as full citizens of Bulgaria.

The interlocutors emphasized that the long-standing friendship and cultural connections between the Armenian and Bulgarian peoples have been a favorable foundation for the development of relations between the two countries.
