The ECHR has condemned France for keeping children in the camps for foreigners, reports Le Monde. There has been an Armenian family among them. The French President Francois Hollande during his pre-election campaign promised to put an end to the practice of keeping children in camps. There should have been provided other residences for the minors.

According to the data of Cimade association, the number of camps from 2011 to 2012 has decreased thanks to the support of foreigners in France. However, the number of camps has increased again from 2015. "There is no law in France that allows to keep children in custody," said Fleur Terseron, the advocate of the Armenian family, who had moved to France with a 2 -year-old child, in the ECHR. According to the human rights activist Jacques Tuboni, the law on foreign citizens' rights adopted on March 7 of 2016 contradicts to the European Convention on Human Rights.
