On July 19 the rebellions in Mali attacked and seized the Nampala base, which is situated in the central part of the country. The soldiers are preparing for a counterattack, reports the Reuters referring to the Diabaly municipality.
"The army is regrouping in town (Diabaly) and is preparing a counter-attack to retake the base, which fell into the hands of the assailants," said the Mayor of Diabaly Ousmane Diallo.
The situation in Mali escalated in 2015 after the attack on the Radisson Hotel on November 20 , during which 19 people were killed.
