The sanitation workers took away 50 million tons of garbage from Times Square where around one million people gathered to celebrate New Year.
The square was cleaned during six hours by 230 sanitation workers who had to clean the area of confetti and other garbage, TASS reported.
Crowds gathered to welcome 2017 with the tradition dropping of New Year Eve's crystal ball.
