U.S. President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of reducing US funding of the United Nations, as well as other international organizations, including those giving full membership to the Palestinian Authority or Palestine Liberation Organisation, The New York Times reported.

It was also reported that the draft order calls for terminating funding for any organization that “is controlled or substantially influenced by any state that sponsors terrorism” or is blamed for the persecution of marginalized groups or any other systematic violation of human rights. The order also calls for enacting “at least a 40 percent overall decrease” in remaining U.S. funding toward international organizations. It was noted that these steps can affect the international peacekeeping transactions, United Nations Population Fund, the International Criminal Court.
