Moscow expects, that the United States will continue strengthening its missile defense potential, said the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, reports Interfax.

"We have the impression, that the new US administration is not going to make any drastic changes in the missile defense development," he said, adding that "the Pentagon under the new administration might focus on the US continental territorial defense. "

"Overall, I think the republican administration, following the previous example, will try to strengthen the capacity of the missile defense, in sense of maneuverability, the speed  of deployment, and other aspects," Ryabkov said.
