February 8 has been one of the most intense days of the presidential election campaign in France. It has probably become “a black day” for the presidential candidate Francois Fillon.
The satirical weekly Le Canard enchaîné released a new disclosure. The newspaper writes, that the wife of the Republican candidate Fillon, Penelope Fillon, received a vacation pay in the amount of 45 thousand euros, after she had been released from the post of the assistant to the MP, reports RFI.
Le Canard enchaîné notes, that the law does not provide such payments for the retired assistant to the MP. Earlier reports said, that Penelope Fillon worked in that position for many years and received 900 000 euros. The investigators consider, that Penelope’s position could be fictitious.
