Natural resources are the wealth and ownership of each Armenian citizen, and the incomes derived from them should not go into the pocket of one or several people, but be equally allocated between everyone.

Minister of Nature Protection of Armenia, Artsvik Minasyan, said the aforementioned on Friday at the meeting with the voters in Yerevan’s Erebuni administrative district within the framework of the ARF Dashnaktutyun party election campaign.

In his words, any economic initiative should meet three conditions: it should be economically substantiated, correspond to the interests of maximally large number of people and be ecologically acceptable. However, according to the minister, currently most of the enterprises operating in Armenia do not meet these requirements.

“Consequently, we have a lot of enterprises today, which pollute everything around, whereas the economic resources created by them fall to the share of a few people.  Moreover, many enterprises, especially those dealing with mineral resources pollute the environment, posing risks and problems to us and the generations to come,” Minasyan said.

The minister also added that the water resources, mineral resources, flora and fauna of Armenia are exploited, which can lead to various problems in the future.
