YEREVAN. – Despite Armenia’s membership to the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization), NATO is ready to work with the country to ensure stability and security in the region.

Polish Ambassador Jerzy Marek Nowakowski stated the aforesaid at Wednesday’s international conference on NATO and Armenia’s security reforms, and which is held in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

In his words, NATO is a defense organization, and it used to be directed against the “aggressive policy” of the ex-Soviet Union.

Nowakowski added that now, however, this alliance is not directed against anyone, and it aims to enhance their internal potential and stability.

Also, the Polish diplomat noted that the very clear message to Armenia is that, despite its CSTO membership, they stand ready to work with the country for the sake of stability and security.
