YEREVAN. - The Military Police of the Armenian Defense Ministry on Thursday detained citizen G.M., who received $2,500 for discharging a serviceman from military service.

G.M. met with Yerevan resident A.A. and introduced himself as an Armenian Defense Ministry official. He told the woman that he could organize the military discharge of her son, army conscript G.G., under the cover of a disease, the press-service of the Defense Ministry informed Armenian News – NEWS.am. The woman’s son was then undergoing treatment in the garrison hospital in Yerevan. G.M. first demanded $4,000 and then $2,500 for the military discharge of the young man.

 A criminal case has been launched into the case.
