French President Emmanuel Macron has sent a congratulatory message to Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the victory of the Pashinyan-led political alliance in Armenia’s National Assembly election, on December 9.

“This election process has shown the devotion of the Armenian people to democratic values and rule of law,” the message reads, in particular. “I would like to stress the antiquity and quality of out bilateral relations.

“France will continue assisting Armenia in the implementation of reforms.

“Also, rest assured that France, as an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country, will continue to pursue a pacific, fair, and lasting settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] issue.”
