The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Justice of Armenia and the My Step faction of the National Assembly since there was a need for a meeting. This is what Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan told journalists today, talking about the meeting held in the office of the Civil Contract Party.

“The main topic was the Istanbul Convention. We weren’t planning to express any position today. We exchanged views and asked questions about certain provisions of the Convention,” he stated.

The minister stressed the fact that there might be reservations under the provisions on criminalization of acts deriving from the Convention by which, for instance, something else is prescribed by the national legislation of Armenia.
