YEREVAN. – Davit Khajakyan, head of the Luys opposition faction in the Yerevan Council of Elders, today invited Mayor Hayk Marutyan to a live debate.

"Dear Mr. Marutyan, for days we have been alerting about the corrupt nature of your transactions and going beyond [you] official powers," Khajakyan's respective statement reads in particular. “You responded in live broadcast, which raised even more questions. Hereby, I discontinue the debate from distance and invite you to a face-to-face live debate which, as an element of democratic culture, has no alternative. In the debate, I will substantiate why I argue that there is corruption and abuse of official power in your actions, whereas you will be able to answer - point by point - the questions raised.

I look forward to your response by 18:00 tomorrow so that we can make an arrangement with the TV company."
