YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: [Ruling] My Step [bloc] MP Hovik Aghazaryan does not agree with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's proposal to return to the semi-presidential system from the [current] parliamentary system. "The parliamentary system is the most correct system for countries like ours. Of course, it is possible to draw conclusions from these difficulties we are going through now and make some changes. But I have been and remain a supporter of the parliamentary system."

To the question, and why does Nikol Pashinyan want to return to the previous system. So that he would not have a dependence on the parliament, as it is today? The MP said that he could not predict Pashinyan's intentions, when he [Pashinyan] speaks, then he [Aghazaryan] will express an opinion. "When we will have a discussion, I will, in any case, defend my point of view."

By the way, even those in My Step consider it unrealistic to hold a constitutional referendum in the current situation; they have serious doubts that they will be able to secure 650 thousand votes in favor.

Let us remind that the matter put to the referendum [in Armenia] is accepted if more than half of the participants—but not less than a quarter of the citizens eligible to participate—voted for it.

The number of voters on the eve of the 2018 snap parliamentary elections was 2 million 575 thousand 939; that is, 644,000 people must vote in favor so that the system of government changes [in Armenia].
