A 27-year-old nurse Megi Bakradze, who was in intensive care after being vaccinated against COVID-19, died at the First University Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University, the Mtavari TV channel reported.

The first serious complication after vaccination was recorded in Georgia on March 18.

About half an hour after the administration of the AstraZeneca drug, the 27-year-old nurse is believed to have developed anaphylactic shock. The night before, she was taken to Tbilisi in an ambulance car, according to Novosti-Georgia.

The treatment prescribed by the protocol did not bring positive results. The patient remained in critical condition, several times the doctors had to restore the work of the heart.

Vaccination against COVID-19 kicked off in Georgia on March 15. Over 2,700 medical workers have been vaccinated.

According to the health ministry's decision, the AstraZeneca drug will continue to be used to vaccinate medical personnel against coronavirus, despite the case recorded.
