According to the agreement on military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey, joint tactical military exercises have begun Monday in the Azerbaijani capital Baku.

The military drills are entitled "Mustafa Kemal Ataturk: 2021," named after the founder of modern-day Turkey, Azerbaijani media report.

The main goal of these military exercises—with the participation of Azerbaijani and Turkish servicemen—is to improve the cooperation between the army units of the two countries in the event of hostilities.

The military  drills will conclude on Wednesday.
