The interim Kyrgyz government regained control of the country’s southern regions. However, clashes occurred in Jalalabad claiming one life and leaving 63 injured.

The ex-president Kurmanbek Bakiyev’s supporters tried to take control of the administrative centers in three southern regions of Kyrgyzstan. Roza Otunbayeva, Head of the interim government, stated that their actions were guided from Moscow.

Clashes between opposition and police hit the republic on April 6, killing over 80 people and injuring at least 1,500. President Kurmanbek Bakiyev left the country, whereas the Opposition formed an interim government.
