Abkhazia and South Ossetia recognized the NKR elections as transparent and democratic, Vice Speaker of People’s Assembly of Abkhazia Viacheslav Tsugba and Speaker of the South Ossetian Parliament Yuri Dzints'tsoyty stated at a briefing in Stepanakert. According to them, the observers did not register any violations. The elections were held at a high level, proving Nagorno-Karabakh’s right to independence.

“Besides, NKR legislation teaches us lessons, and we will apply some of the innovations in drafting Abkhazian legislation and in our practical work,” Tsugba said.

“The European agencies’ criticism of the NKR elections is, to put it mildly, surprising. The NKR elections are Nagorno-Karabakh’s internal affair and their being regularly held under the Constitution is a clear proof that the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh is a democratic state, confirming its independence with every political action, and is on the way to the international recognition,” Tsugba stressed.
