Over the past day, 19,098 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Georgia, noted at the operational headquarters for combating COVID-19, Novosti-Georgia reports.

The data was obtained on the basis of more than 52,300 tests. The total number of coronavirus cases recorded in Georgia since the start of the pandemic increased to 1,314,603 by Sunday morning.

Another 38 patients have died from COVID-19. The death toll has reached 15,212.

17,531 people have recovered, bringing the total to 1,089,091.

There are currently 210,274 active cases of coronavirus in Georgia. Of these, 5,850 are being treated in hospitals. The condition of 1,146 patients is severe, 282 are connected to ventilators. 1,962 people remain under the supervision of doctors in covid hotels, and 202,462 are treated at home.

42 citizens remain in quarantine.
