Turkey demands from Armenia to sever ties with its diaspora. Ishkhan Saghatelyan—an opposition MP, a member of the Supreme Body of the opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party of Armenia, and coordinator of the opposition Resistance Movement—said about this on the air of Yerkir Media television.

"Just four days ago, [Turkish FM] Cavusoglu announced that countermeasures must be taken against the Armenian diaspora in France, to punish [them]. It is clear, isn't it, why [PM] Nikol Pashinyan banned one of the most famous French national figures, Mourad Papazian, from entering Armenia? Cavusoglu gives the instruction, they [i.e., the incumbent Armenian authorities] do it. Now can I say he [i.e., Pashinyan] is a traitor? Turkey's demand [from Armenia] is to sever ties with the [Armenian] diaspora. Therefore, the [Armenian] diaspora should stand up, should not enter into the agenda of getting discouraged, despaired, distancing [themselves] from the state. (…). Alongside the classical [Armenian diaspora] structure, a diaspora made up of those from Armenia has also been formed in recent years. This is also a serious force that they are trying to serve for their petty, party, political interests," Saghatelyan said.
