The voter turnout for the parliamentary elections in Georgia amounted to 58.94%. These are the preliminary data of the Central Election Commission (CEC), NewsGeorgia reports.

By 20:00, 2,060,412 voters had taken part in the voting.

At the parliamentary elections in 2020 by 20:00 the turnout was 60.8% (2,197,243 voters), in 2016 - 51.63% (1,814,276 voters), and in 2012, when the country last changed power, - 56.11% (1,970,540 voters).

On October 26, parliamentary elections were held in Georgia. 3044 polling stations nationwide opened at 08:00 and closed at 20:00. 3.5 million citizens had the right to vote.

18 parties participated in the elections. For the first time, 150 members of parliament were elected not by a mixed system, as before, but by a fully proportional system. In order to pass to the legislative body, parties need to overcome the five-percent threshold.
