Observer Research Foundation (ORF) and The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, India will co-host the first edition of the annual “Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue” on 18-19 November 2024, in New Delhi, India. Associate Professor of the Armenian State University of Economics, PhD in Economics Suren Parsyan will participate in the discussion from Armenia.

“Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue” would serve as a platform for critical conversations – which would include discussions and deliberations on the blue economy, maritime logistics, ports, shipping and waterways sectors, and the global maritime economy.

It will bring together relevant global stakeholders from across geographies and regions. This includes global leaders and policymakers, strategic thinkers, academia, intergovernmental organisations, maritime policy research institutions, media, civil society and industry. The annual dialogue will be the undergirding of India’s drive to be a hub for ideas, agendas, and pathways to inform and contribute to the global maritime policy discourse.

The dialogue would be organised around four thematic pillars:

1. New Frontiers: Connectivity, Infrastructure, and Development in a Changing World
2. Blue Growth: Partnerships for Progress
3. Green and Blue: Sustainability, Technology and Innovation
4. Coasts and Communities: Maritime Governance and Social Impact.

As part of "Sagarmanthan. The Great Oceans Dialogue, Dr. Suren Parsyan presented the Expert Speak on "Routing new trade corridors through the Armenian Highlands".
