US President Donald Trump believes that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy has made no serious effort to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, and may be mainly interested in Kyiv continuing to receive financial resources from Western countries.
The US president said that Zelenskyy has done “a terrible job.”
“He’s [Zelenskyy] been working for three years. There’s never been even meetings or phone calls to stop this war. It’s a horrible thing now,” Trump said on Wednesday at an investment forum in Miami.
Trump assured that he is committed to resolving the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, former US President Joe Biden never tried to end the conflict, Europe has not been able to ensure peace, and Zelenskyy may want the easy money to continue flowing.
Trump added that Zelenskyy had not made enough efforts to reach a settlement.
“He’s [Zelenskyy] very upset that he wasn’t invited to Saudi Arabia,” the US president said, speaking about the talks between the Russian-American delegations held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday.
